Sprint 2 Electric Boogaloo 8/04/2018 - 9/11/2018
One hell of a busy week, lets get started shall we?




Lets talk: Meetings!
Meetings:
9/04 was the standard set up meeting for planning tasks, and we had some improvement in task creation dynamics so this meeting took a bit less time, and we were finished in about half the usual time.
9/06 The first of our call check ins. we had a brief daily scrum to start and everyone had done a bit towards the tasks we set up. Being only two days since the start of the sprint.

9/09 Hey! The first prototype for one of our three ideas is done! The first iteration of this side up and ready to go for testing later in the day. Concept art for it is ready and in the QA form, DSV Valiant our underwater multiplayer horror game has concept art and basic ideas for the MOBA were discussed. Amazing what three days can do!
Lets talk: Team dynamic!
Overall: I think we are gelling pretty well right now, there is a good, consistent, and valuable exchange of information. People are not complaining about work and things are getting done efficiently.

The Producer: He is doing pretty good, and doing his tasks, I would like for him to create some social media stuff, but that is a bit hard with no solid team name as of yet. I would also like a bit more assertiveness to make sure everyone gets their job done.

The Artist: Man their 2D is incredible and so is their concept art. I am a bit frustrated on their lack of enthusiasm on the MOBA concept art but I can't fault them too much for that. I would also like to see a bit more time put into the game but other people have lives unlike me.
​
The Designer: We basically have constant discussions on each of the games and their mechanics, bouncing ideas back and forth as soon as meetings start. I would like him to work a bit more in engine but for the first prototype I don't blame him, it is very simple. I will expect to see him commit more often with the later builds.

The Programmer (Lul is me): I think I need to work on my work balance which is a bit off right now. I also need to work on my presentation skills when presenting the prototypes in the future. However, I did make a pretty fun prototype so time well spent.

Lets Talk: What I did!
Research: I did some research for the MOBA game idea by playing some MOBAs like Heroes of the Storm and SMITE. I evaluated their inputs, leveling, and item systems. I have a few ideas for systems now for the MOBA which I will try out when I get there.

Testing Light: I did some 2D light testing in Unity for DSV Valiant. I found an interesting plugin called Light2D and tested some unity lighting.
​
The Prototype: The This Side Up first prototype is done! I had a few friends test it out and they seemed to enjoy it and have a few ideas on things we could add. Overall it was demonstrated our concept really well! (it is also displayed above in video form).
The Documents: The TRA, Systems List, and Platform/Technology Descriptions are done and are in their first draft form. They will be updated if our team chooses to move forward with this concept.
