Lets talk: Meetings!

Meetings:

9/25 Hey what do ya know more task creation. DSV-Valiant is in polishing phase and MOBY (our MOBA concept game has been started). Looking to mostly finish MOBY by Saturday so we can get some QA done for it and decide which concept we will move forward with. 

 

9/27 The weekly check-in is back, and this time with more ideas than ever! Our team name has been chosen we are now formally known as Midnight Sprites. Furthermore MOBY will henceforth be called Last Rights (wow two names and an excuse to use henceforth?).

9/30 Our work meeting the final day before Spooktember went pretty well. I am a bit behind on Last Rights, but the concepts are easier to get across in a prototype, and I have an extra two days to work on it. Other than that we have some initial concepts for our team logo and the final prototype for DSV-Valiant done. 

Lets talk: Team dynamic!

Overall: A bit of frustration, more attributed to a bit of stubbornness (explained below).

The Producer: He wasn't able to do as much as I would have liked but hey he had family issues so whatever, overall he is doing his job.

​

The Artist: Doing a ton of concerting for Midnight Sprites logo, as well as Last Rights. They are definitely doing plenty, and i am excited to see what they come up with.

​

The Designer: The designer still isnt doing as much as I would have liked, he is making levels, but I am still being left with tedious tasks so that's a bit of an annoyance. But their docs are on point so I have a really good understanding of where we want our game to go.

 

The Programmer (Lul is still meX2): So I got the graphics working for Valiant (still very painful). I have to fix a physics bug where the players will float around in the ship (I can fix that by moving the level around, but if  I have creatures pathing around that will be a bit difficult). Last Rights is far more appealing to me right now as it has so many more options,

Lets Talk: What I did!

Research: As I am sure is no longer a surprise I did research into Last Rights for both perspective programming as well as other similar games to ours such as Immortal Planet and Battlerite.

The Prototype 1: DSV is done finally, hopefully I will ever have to look back at that graphics programming and cry.

​

The Prototype 2: Last Rights is started and soon to be finished, as the prototype is nowhere near the difficulty of DSV (also helps that there are spell casting necromancy spells)

 

The Documents: Updated the Last Rights docs (taking it easy on them since I don't want to do a lot of docs on games that we may not go forward with).
