Sprint 7 Prototypes and Names 10/6/2018- 10/15/2018
Lets talk: Meetings!
Meetings:
10/7 Sprint planning for the mega sprint, I am putting a bit extra for myself, cleaning up the prototype to be usable and other fun things. Super excited to start working on this project.
10/9 Check-in for where we are at and what we are doing. I am working on something unplanned which was making the spells super modular. It is cutting into my time a hell of a lot.
10/11 Still working on getting the prototype cleaned up, mostly finished except for the spells. I am very behind where I thought I would be. On the plus side we have a new logo choice.
10/14 Severe underestimation of my tasks has led me to push back some networking and doc tasks, we probably wont be able to move on to phase two because of this. It wont effect my team fortunately, as they are able to get things done without the networking done. The artist has really cool stuff.
Overall: We are basically good to go and are jelling as a team.
The Producer: On point.
The Artist: On point and has a ton of assets, isn't keeping enough communication up with the designer
The Designer: Needs to do a better job with the artist by getting some asset lists done but other than that we are doing pretty good.
The Programmer (Lul is still meX3): I have plenty of stuff done, but I wasn't able to get where I hoped to, I severely underestimated how long each of my tasks would take.
Lets talk: Team dynamic!
Lets Talk: What I did!
Lets Talk: Why I did it!
The reason I am so far behind is because of the spell layout in the previous pictures (well that and networking was harder than expected, docs are taking longer than anticipated, etc).
I realized that there was no way this project could progress smoothly, let alone move forward to production if the spells are hard to create. So I spent quite a bit of time trying to make this as modular as possible. I think I did do that, and now there is far less time needed in that area of production (which will be quite large as the entire game is mostly spell casting).
Clean-up: I have cleaned up the prototype, and gotten a clean flow of power creation to make it easier for everyone to create a power.
Networking: I have a working lobby that transitions to the game scene, but it wont work as that's all I have done. I think this is just my lack of experience in the subject.
Docs: I have the technology description and TRA good to go in one doc, the systems list will require some work to get done and will be done next week.
Phrase of the Week!
We're half way there! Whoa livin on a prayer!!!
